Lost & Found
‘Lost and Found’ will deliver participatory arts sessions to residents, staff and carers in four care homes in South Lincolnshire. It celebrates the stories and experiences of older adults in care through a touring exhibition of participants’ and artists’ work. A training session was provided for the care home staff and carers on 29th of April, 2017. We worked with international contemporary book designer, Guy Begbie. The tour will raise awareness and share with the wider community issues faced by older adults in care homes. Care home participants’ work will combine with the lead artists’ studio work to create a thought provoking exhibition in contemporary book form.
The books will tour the four care homes
and local libraries from 25.4.17 to 18.7.17. Local primary schools will be
invited to visit the exhibition to provide the younger generation with positive
role models and connections to the past. At the end of the Lincolnshire tour,
the exhibition will be available on loan to other venues across the UK. The lead artists, Ernie Butler and Carol
Parker, have more than 30 years’ experience of designing and delivering
participatory arts engagement and socially engaged practice with all ages and
abilities. The impact of their artistic
work has been monitored and evaluated by funders including: ERDF, EMDA, Legacy
UK Trust, Arts Council England and the Heritage Lottery.
